Choosing the Right Architect:
Choosing the right Architect can be one of the hardest decisions. Much like choosing the right Structural Engineer and Civil Engineer can be the difference between a cost efficient build and over spending. In life as in the building the cheapest option is not always the best option. Our Architect, Hector Navarro, has accomplished that happy medium that everyone is looking for. Most architects will charge around $13-$15 per livable square foot and $6-$7 per non livable square foot. At these prices you are spending $40,000-$50,000 before anyone else touches the plans. This could stop your build before it gets started. Hectors pricing has been anywhere from $9,000-$13,000 on a 3,000 sq. ft. house.
In today's market all Architects are busy working on multiple houses at one time. The process can last anywhere from 4 month on up. Not to mention the extra few weeks the engineers will be working on your plans. After all of that we can finally submit for permits. Each municipality is different but will usually take around 2.5 months to receive a permit. We work hard everyday maintaining contact with each person working on your plans, reaching out to the municipality to monitor the permit tracking in order to keep your project moving through the process. This can be an exciting and frustrating time.
